Family, community still demanding answers in death of Victor White, III

Hundreds of protestors gathered at Bouligny Plaza in New Iberia, Louisiana, to call for an end to police brutality and to demand justice for 22-year-old Victor White, III who was fatally shot while handcuffed in the back seat of a police cruiser while in their custody. Rev. Victor White, Sr. and his family have been demanding answers from the Iberia Parish Sherriff’s Department since his son’s tragic death, March 3, 2014, which was ruled a suicide. Rev. White has mentioned many times that his son is not “Houdini”, explaining that it was impossible for his son to have killed himself

Southland Celebrates Gay Marriage Ruling

Massive rallies were held in West Hollywood and other Southland cities last Friday to celebrate the U.S. Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex marriage. The day was historic, as groups that have fought for years to enable gay and lesbian couples to wed were finally able to raise their arms in victory. “To be honest, for much of my life I never thought I’d ever live to see this day,” said Lorri Jean of the Los Angeles LGBT Center. “For the first time, we have been acknowledged by the nation’s highest court as deserving the rights and privileges of full citizenship,
