First Ladies Share Words of Encouragement for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is May 12 and the observance usually means gifts and enjoyment for women who serve in that role. Unfortunately, in these troubled times, some women are facing overwhelming troubles and obstacles in their lives, which makes it hard to celebrate in the midst of their situation. The L.A. December 7 is official “National Letter Writing Day.”  I have loved writing handwritten notes since I was a little girl.  It is one of the gifts my paternal grandmother instilled in me as far back as I can remember.  Whenever anyone would do anything nice for us, she would tell us that it was our responsibility to sit down at the dining room table and write them a thank you note.

Love, Peace and Happiness Plans Mother’s Day Salute

Love, Peace and Happiness Family Christian Fellowship Church plans a Mother’s Day salute on Sunday, May 13, at their three campuses. According to Bishop Leon and Dr. Jacqueline Martin, pastor and first lady, the tribute will include flowers and gifts to all mothers attending the services along with special recognition to the oldest mother and the mother with the most children present. “We cordially invite the public to join us in the celebration to honor mothers,” said Bishop Martin, who will also deliver a special sermon.
