Former Lakers player and Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor passed away peacefully of natural causes today in Los Angeles at the age of 86. Baylor was surrounded by his wife, Elaine, and his daughter, Krystal.
Among the Lakers retired jerseys is the no. 22 jersey which was worn by legendary player Elgin Baylor. He was drafted at a crucial time in the franchise’s history, back when they were the Minneapolis Lakers.
The Staples Center got its 10th statue when the Los Angeles Lakers immortalized NBA legend Elgin Baylor with a bronze bust on Friday.
The statue will be unveiled on April 6th during an outdoor ceremony at STAPLES Center prior to the Lakers vs. Minnesota game.
