LAPD to Modify Undercover Surveillance Policy

A group of activists that was infiltrated by LAPD informants and undercover officers at its meetings in 2017 demanded answers today regarding the department’s motives for what they say was essentially spying on them.

Lime and LAPD Partner for ‘First Ride’ Safety Academy

Continuing its commitment to safety, today Lime, partnering with the LAPD, kicked off its inaugural LA “First Ride Academy.”  First time Lime riders joined Lime representatives to learn how to safely operate and ride scooters. The event is the start of First Ride Academies that will be held over the next several weeks.   A man fatally shot in a Southern California Costco store was mentally ill and off his medication when he pushed or slapped an off-duty police officer who opened fire and killed the man and critically wounded the man’s parents, the lawyer for the man’s family said Tuesday.
