Retired NBA player Kobe Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, recently surprised and congratulated Mrs. Bettye Faye Nichols on her birthday. Mrs. Nichols, public relations director for the Southern California Region of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church celebrated her birthday at the Staples Center. Thanks to her family, she had courtside seats watching the L.A. Lakers play against the Cleveland Cavaliers. As a die-hard Laker fan, she sported a purple and gold pantsuit with a matching gold hat and boots. Kobe Bryant’s farewell poem to basketball is getting the short film treatment with some high profile talent behind it.
After all the NBA franchises gave Bryant tributes, the Los Angeles Lakers showed their appreciation for the 20-year veteran.
