Actor-comedian Kevin Hart will host 2019 Oscars

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kevin Hart has a new job — he will host the 2019 Academy Awards, a role the prolific actor-comedian says fulfills a longtime dream. Hart announced his selection for the 91st Oscars in an  Instagram statement Tuesday. Night School earned top billing this weekend at the box office taking in  $28 million in ticket sales, according to estimates Sunday. For the first time in more than two years, a straight-up comedy is No. 1 at the box office. Too soon. As the opening credits start to roll, you wonder why the producers didn’t’ give moviegoers a real break between “Ride Along” (2014) and “Ride Along 2” (2016). Two years is not enough time to make audiences yearn for more, not enough time to take this franchise to the next level.
