NFL legend, social rights activist, and actor Jim Brown passed away at 87, according to his wife Monique. The pro football Hall of Famer was known for being one of the best running backs in NFL history.
Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Brown, the unstoppable running back who retired at the peak of his brilliant career to become an actor as well as a prominent civil rights advocate during the 1960s, has died. He was 87.
NFL great Jim Brown has earned many accolades in the NFL. He was the 1957 NFL Rookie of the Year that became an eight-time Pro Bowler, a three-time NFL MVP, and an NFL champion. He also was a prominent actor, starring in “The Dirty Dozen,” “The Split” and “Any Given Sunday.”

The award is named after six-time NBA champion and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who has dedicated his life to the fight for equality.
