Hampton University to Collaborate with Nigerian Scientists on Water Quality Research

The Hampton University Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry hosted professors from Nigerian universities on November 20, who collaborated with HU professors on water quality research. Last week, a team of scientists from two Nigerian Universities were visiting the U.S. to tour several selected Water Quality Research and Management Laboratories. The visit is in connection with the Global Innovation Imperatives program, an initiative of the American Chemical Society, to foster creative solutions to imperatives of global significance. Like many teams at historically black colleges and universities across the nation, Howard University’s football team lost its first two games of the season by embarrassingly large margins; for Howard, a combined score of 118 to 0. The second trouncing, a 76-0 loss to Boston College, made national news when referees shortened the game to avoid injuries and further embarrassment. Lee, Dems Say Republican Spending Policy Unfairly Hurts Families of Color, Students

House Democrats, including California Congresswoman Barbara Lee, came to Howard University last Tuesday to dramatize how, they say, Republican-initiated federal funding policies are disproportionately hurting black and Hispanic college students, black and Hispanic families and the educational opportunities for all public school students.
