Cedars-Sinai Names Next President and CEO

Robert Icart has been running the Basketball Training Institute (BTI) College Prep Basketball Club for 25 years, helping 600 students attend college. BTI has gotten 35 students into the Ivy Leagues and eight into the NBA. Other students went into careers in various fields including law and healthcare.
“This is a moment in time for Americans to move past our divisions to come together and reach our full potential as a nation,” Ken Frazier, the chairman and CEO of Merck and a OneTen founder stated. “Our country’s workforce of the future will be an increasingly diverse one,” Frazier proclaimed.
California born businessman Clayton Banks was an excited teen going to visit his brother at his UCLA dorm, he says, when he first encountered racism. “I was walking along and a car came by and someone yelled the N-word. I was just so appalled. I freaked out. I mean,” he paused at the memory, “I was really flabbergasted.” After he processed the incident Banks says he realized, “It had nothing to do with me. It was their ignorance.”
Assemblymember Chris Holden’s legislation, AB 1497, that strengthens anti-discrimination laws in new forms of housing accommodations such as Airbnb, was signed by Governor Gavin Newsom.
