Holman United Methodist Church welcomes the Rev. James Lawson as the guest preacher on Jan. 19, at the 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. services at 3320 W. Significant highpoints in the ministry of Pastor C. Lamar Simmons will take center stage during the “25/35/45 Milestones Celebration” planned by Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church of Los Angeles. In a nod to Simmons’ achievements, the congregation will honor his 25 years as the pastor of Greater Mount Olive, 35 years of preaching and 45th birthday with a musical on Sunday, Jan. 19, at 6 p.m., at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 510 W. 53rd St., in Los Angeles.
