From an early age, Roberta Remy played football with her brothers. Her passion and knowledge for the game was again put to use when Hawthorne high school established a girl’s flag football team this year.
The Los Angeles Chargers partnered with the L.A. Legends sports organization to host their inaugural girls’ flag football college showcase at Serra high school. Members of the L.A. Legends helped facilitate drills and exercises.
Serra senior running back Kyli Bixon has played several sports, but her favorite has been flag football. The Cavaliers recently won the Girls Flag Football League of Champions Super Bowl.
King/Drew senior running back Janiya Hughes is the team captain for the Golden Eagles girls flag football team. Being a captain, she learned the importance of leading by example.
