A Great Day in South L.A. Offers Black History Tours

If you are a transplant who lives in LA, a current resident, or someone looking to visit, and want a tour of the heart of South LA, Janae Green has something just for you. Green has launched “A Great Day in South LA, which is an immersive three hour Black History tour that explores iconic landmarks such as Crenshaw/Baldwin, Leimert Park, Hyde Park, View Park, West Adams, and Historic Central Avenue.

It’s Time for 18th Annual Taste of Soul Family Festival! 

The 18th Annual Taste of Soul Family Festival is finally here and offering the best of food, entertainment and shopping in the Southland. The free daylong event – presented by Bakewell Media and the L.A. Sentinel – takes place on Saturday, October 21, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Crenshaw Blvd., between Stocker St. and Obama Blvd.  

Vendors and Attendees express excitement for the Taste of Soul’s in-person return

Good vibes and energy permeated Saturday’s, October 15, Taste of Soul event which is probably what caused the rain and clouds that filled the sky earlier that morning to disappear. The free family street festival took place on the historic Crenshaw Blvd. and attracted thousands of people from all over to enjoy food, music, performances, and much more. The event took place virtually for the past two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Southwest Carpenters Partner with 17th Annual Taste of Soul

More than 63,000 people throughout Southern California are represented by the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters (SWRCC), also known as the Southwest Carpenters. This massive organization is collaborating with the Taste of Soul, uplifting the community on October 15, on Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles, California.

BROTHERHOOD CRUSADE PROVIDING HELP TO THOSE IN NEED IN HONOR OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH

The Los Angeles Brotherhood Crusade has been providing much needed resources and assistance to the African American community and all people of need and support for over 50 years.   Their mission of self-help and determination has never been more apparent and needed than through their work over the past year in helping the community navigate through this COVID-19 pandemic.

Traveling to the Taste of Soul Festival 10/19/19, Metro Releases Bus Schedule

Traveling South to the event from Olympic & Wilshire, take Bus 210 from Olympic, Bus 210 or Rapid 710 from Wilshire. Traveling North to Taste of Soul from Manchester & Crenshaw, take Bus 210, which travels North/South on Crenshaw. This line will detour around the event but detours will remain within walking distance. Traveling West from Figueroa & Florence, take Bus 81 heading North and transfer to Metro Expo Line, or Bus 111/311 west on Florence and transfer to 210 or 710 at Florence/Crenshaw.
