Raiders Star Keisean Nixon Hosts Backpack Giveaway in Compton

Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Keisean Nixon returned to his hometown of Compton to host a backpack giveaway to help young students for the upcoming school year. Along with receiving free school supplies, families were also given free food through the United Hands of Compton food bank. Students were given several items including backpacks, notebooks, erasers, and pencils. Families also received fresh produce and canned goods among other types of food. Compton Unified School District Launches Districtwide Career Program with eSports Video Game Tournament

The Compton Unified School District (CUSD), in partnership with the Carrot Group and the Los Angeles Chargers, will host its first-ever eSports High School Tournament between its four high schools – Centennial, Compton, Compton Early College, and Dominguez High Schools – to kick off a districtwide career program and strengthen Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) skills in schools.
