Staying in the Black: Millionaires in Training

After dropping 30% during the pandemic, Black businesses are making a comeback. A recent study from the University of California, Santa Cruz cited the number of Black small-business owners rose 28% higher in the third quarter of 2021 in comparison to pre-pandemic times.

The multi-billion-dollar video gaming industry owes a sizable portion of its success to Black and Brown teen and young adult consumers. Yet, when you look at the percentage of minorities in the industry’s senior management and game development ranks, they are under-represented and underpaid in comparison to Whites.
