COGIC Southwest Jurisdiction sponsors Old-Fashion Day

California Southwest Jurisdiction will hold an Old Fashion Day Service on Sunday, November 29, at 3:30 pm. The service will be held at Pacific Mount Olive Church of God in Christ, located at 1385 East 21st Street, Los Angeles, California 90011. Superintendent Milton Joyner is the host pastor. Bishop Hillrie Murphy is the jurisdictional prelate and Mother Joan Walker is supervisor of women. “We are looking forward to having service as it was in the olden days with testimonies telling of the goodness of God, tag team preaching, singing old gospel songs and hearing an old fashion gospel sermon,”

Star-Studded L.A. Focus’ 18th First Ladies High Tea was a ‘Grand Affair’

The 18th L.A. Focus’ First Ladies High Tea held recently at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills was a grand affair. Over 1,000 attendees were blessed to witness a star-studded event as the women wore their Sunday Best Hats to top it all off. L.A. County Supervisor, Mark Ridley-Thomas received the Legacy Award. COGIC 1st Jurisdiction holds Annual State Women’s Convention

The 49th State Women’s Convention of Southern California First Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ convenes on July 23, through July 26, at the Desert Springs J. W. Marriott Resort & Spa, 74855 Country Club Drive in Palm Desert. Dr. Barbara McCoo Lewis is assistant general supervisor/jurisdictional supervisor and president of the convention, Bishop Joe L. Ealy is the jurisdictional prelate, and Mrs. Kathie Humphrey, is the convention coordinator.
