Arizona State junior quarterback Jayden Daniels lets his talent and effort on the football field speak for itself. During his three seasons, he completed 6025 passing yards and committed 32 touchdown throws. He also showed his athleticism through his 1288 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns.
Senior Mychai Williams is a quintessential contributor to the offense and defense of the Dorsey Dons football team. During this season, he committed nine interceptions.
Stanford senior defensive end Thomas Booker has won accolades for his dedication to being an athlete as well as a student. He is a nominee for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which is awarded to a college football player with the best mix of academics, community service and football talent.
Drake London of USC is projected to be one of the top junior wide receivers in the nation. Last season, he was named on the Phil Steele All-Pac-12 first team and the All-Pac-12 second team. For the first time in his athletic career, London is focusing on one sport. During his freshman year, London was a dual-sport athlete, playing basketball and football for the Trojans. In December 2020, he decided to part ways with the men’s basketball team. “Obviously basketball is a part of my background, it’s a part of me,” London said. “Of course I miss it, but I
UCLA senior guard, Chris Smith is never too proud to say that he still has room for growth. Last season, he led the team in scoring average and came in second in rebounding average.
This past season, sophomore Payton Walk helped the Crenshaw girls’ basketball team become City Section contenders. Although this was her first year playing varsity, she was co-captain of the team.
Build Back Better has become the mantra of post-disaster reconstruction, since the United Nations’ 2006 report, “Key Propositions for Building Back Better.” It points out that disasters can be leveraged as opportunities for change and improvement.
The King/Drew boys’ basketball team was a dominant force in the City Section with the help of senior Fidelis Okereke. His frontcourt presence on offense and defense made him the Coliseum League Player of the Year.
LACES senior Tyrah Lacy has never been afraid to speak up, she is a tenacious captain of the girls’ volleyball team and a learned leader at her high school. Since the age of 13, Lacy has been dedicated to playing volleyball and started as a middle blocker.
The hard work that linebacker Troy Dye put in during the season paid off for the Oregon Ducks on Friday in their 37-15 upset of the No. 5 Utah Running Utes in the Pac-12 Championship. The Ducks will battle the Wisconsin Badgers in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day. While having a cast on to protect his injured right thumb, he made one interception, eight total tackles and 1.0 tackles for loss for six yards. Although he injured his thumb in the Ducks’ October 19 game against Washington state, he only missed one game since the injury. His defensive
University of Washington Huskies senior defensive back Myles Bryant is a former CIF Southern Section standout who is seeing success during his college career. Although the Huskies are having a slow start to their season, Bryant has racked up nine solo tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss in two games. His defensive efforts aided Washington to a 10-4 record, a Pac 12 title and a trip to the 2019 Rose Bowl game.
Program participants articulated a great deal of confidence, excitement, and overall gratitude regarding their experience.
