BLM Activist Injured During Fairfax District Protest Sues City of LA

A Black Lives Matter activist sued the city of Los Angeles today, alleging she was hit with a baton and shot in the stomach and arm with projectiles used by LAPD officers during a protest in the Fairfax District last spring after the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police.

There could not be a better time for athletes to utilize their platforms to make a difference in the communities. Cooper strives to use her voice, and she is inspired by her leader and teammate Ogwumike, who is also the WNBPA President.

Being in the bubble, many people supported her and her ability to speak up and be the forefront of us standing together as a league. It took almost three years, but Ed Buck is finally sitting in a jail charged with nine federal counts–including that he supplied the crystal meth that caused two overdose deaths and that he engaged in a pattern of soliciting Black men to consume drugs that he provided.

The Black Lives Matter PAC responds to former President Barack Obama’s recent remarks about “losing people with snappy slogans” and formally announces the launch of the organization’s Snappy Slogan campaign. The campaign can be found at www.snappyslogan.com. 

President Obama thinks you lose people with snappy slogans like #DefundThePolice. Our movement believes when leaders waste time criticizing a hashtag instead of talking about stopping the murders committed by law enforcement and white supremacists, we lose Black lives. If the former President is worried about whether #DefundThePolice is the right slogan, we must make it known that this is the type of leadership that is a part of the problem. 

One of Nielsen’s Top Black Executives Sues the Global Data and Measurement Corporation Charging Discrimination

For the past decade, Nielsen Holdings has produced a series of annual reports, Nielsen’s Diverse Intelligence Series, highlighting a comprehensive collection of insights and the buying power of U.S. multicultural consumers compiled from the company’s multiple measurement verticals, spanning from retail to entertainment. Cheryl Grace, Nielsen’s senior vice president of U.S. Strategic Community Alliances and Consumer Engagement, the founder of the series, has been the company’s spokesperson for the company’s campaign, particularly the report focused on African American consumers.

Perhaps 200 years from now, someone doing research, will view this time period as a turning point in American History.  It is, in fact, November, 2020 and Joe Biden will become the 46th President of the United States, and Kamala Harris makes history, on several fronts, as the first woman and person of color voted into the Vice-Presidential office.
