Bishop Paul S. Morton and the Full Gospel Ministry of Worship have just landed safely on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart at No. 29 with its new radio single, “Release the Rain.” The tune is led by the guitar-wielding worship leader, Chris House, and noted music director Eugene Brown. The lilting, mid-tempo track builds into a rousing cry for a spiritual infusion from the heavens. 2017 Prayer Bowl Set for January 2

Eight powerful preachers headline the 2017 Prayer Bowl set for Jan. 2, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 4269 S. Figueroa St., in Los Angeles. Pastor Melvin V. Wade, Sr., has hosted the annual event, which began more than 60 years ago under Mount Moriah founder Dr. Earl A. Pleasant, the last 41 years. Joining as co-host is the Rev. Xavier L.
