Bethany Baptist Church and Kedren Vaccines hosted a clinic offering Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines and booster shots. Attendees also received a food box, gift cards and refreshments from Earle’s Grill on Crenshaw.

The visitors were transported by bus from various shelters and streets in South L.A. and Skid Row.
More than 120 families received a complete dinner at the annual Thanksgiving Giveaway sponsored by Bethany Baptist Church of West Los Angeles and the Baldwin Bethany Community Development Corporation. The outreach event, held Nov. 18 on the church campus, was presented in collaboration with Dr. George McKenna and LAUSD District 1, which selected students and families from Coliseum, Audubon, Hillcrest, and Baldwin Hills schools to receive food boxes filled with turkey, dressing and other ingredients for a full holiday meal. When faith centers and secular education unite, the results can be spectacular. Such is the case with the Launch Academy, a math and science summer program sponsored by Bethany Baptist Church of Los Angeles and the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). The winning partnership between the two institutions has led to a six-week intensive curriculum that prepares young people for college and academic success in school.
