The benefits of being a foster or adoptive parent were highlighted at the Parent Resource Spring Expo hosted by the Baldwin-Bethany Community Development Corporation (BBCDC) on May 20. The mid-day event, held on the campus of Bethany Baptist Church in South L.A., featured several representatives of local organizations seeking to persuade adults to assist children in the L.A. County foster care system. Bethany Baptist Holds Thanksgiving Giveaway

More than 120 families received a complete dinner at the annual Thanksgiving Giveaway sponsored by Bethany Baptist Church of West Los Angeles and the Baldwin Bethany Community Development Corporation. The outreach event, held Nov. 18 on the church campus, was presented in collaboration with Dr. George McKenna and LAUSD District 1, which selected students and families from Coliseum, Audubon, Hillcrest, and Baldwin Hills schools to receive food boxes filled with turkey, dressing and other ingredients for a full holiday meal.
