We have tremendous, tremendous, respect for the offensive firepower of the team we’re playing, Vogel states. He infers that this series is going to be difficult for them to win.

“We were just protecting the paint,” said Lakers’ forward Anthony Davis, who led the way with 24 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocks. “Last game , we gave up 60-something points in the paint. It’s something we don’t like doing, and we tried to make an emphasis tonight on protecting the paint.”

The much-anticipated Lakers versus Clippers Christmas Day game was an old-fashioned showdown between two teams that share the same home court in STAPLES Center. It came down to the wire in front of a star-studded crowd that included comedian Kevin Hart and actor Anthony Anderson, but ultimately a few costly turnovers and questionable fouls erased the Lakers 15-point lead to give the Clippers the edge, 111-106.
