Angela Howard, an incredibly talented graphic designer, production manager and circulation coordinator for the L.A. Sentinel, unexpectantly passed away on Sunday, Dec. 31. She was 58 years old.
Danny J. Bakewell, Sr., center, executive publisher of the L.A. Sentinel Newspaper, recognized Angela Howard and Tom Dorsey as the longest-serving staff members of the Sentinel.
When Angela Howard joined the Los Angeles Sentinel as an intern in 1986, creating a weekly newspaper required a multitude of skills. Fortunately, Howard was not only intelligent, creative and willing, but also a quick study who learned to mark-up copy, lay strips of type, take memorable photographs and manage circulation personnel.
