The Child Welfare system is failing, causing greater harm for, both, the youth and families they’re supposed to be serving.
Chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus Karen Bass has amplified the call for justice countless times within Capitol Hill. Upon learning of the details surrounding Brown’s case and calling on a higher power, the former governor granted Cyntoia Brown full clemency August 7, 2019, releasing the 31-year-old from the Tennessee Women’s prison.
