On Saturday, March 18, Positive Results Center will host their Annual Prom Dress and Tuxedo Gift Away Party for Girls (cis, trans-girls, gender non-conforming, and non- binary).
The community is invited to attend this event where youth are honored by presenting them with a world of fashion and elegance. The event takes place at the Beehive, located at 1000 E. 60th in Los Angeles from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Contributions and donations of new or clean, gently used evening gowns, party dresses, suits, tuxedos (for Girls Only), shoes, evening bags, wraps, jewelry, wigs, hair and hygiene items will be accepted. All items will be gifted at no cost to the ladies.
“Every girl dreams of her prom, however, for many, economic insecurities, homelessness, being a foster youth, a victim of violence, or some other life-changing concern due to no fault of their own has made the prospect of prom a distant reality,” said Kandee Lewis, event organizer. “We have all been blessed, now we are sharing our blessings.”
The event will include a Resource Fair in the courtyard of The Beehive. Community-based organizations or service providers can participate. The setup time for vendors is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sponsors and partners of the event include The BeeHive, Councilmember Curren D. Price, G Is On The Move, Kaiser Permanente, Marions Warehouse, SoCalGas, Sola Impact, County Supervisor Holly Mitchell, Temple Beauty, Thrive Causemetics, Ultimate Restoration Unlimited, UPS Women In Operation and Willdan.
