Police Tuesday sought the driver of an SUV that struck and killed a 49-year-old woman in a hit-and-run crash on Christmas night in the Leimert Park area of Los Angeles.
The woman, identified as Gloria Eaton-Breaux, was crossing the street with her 14-year-old son at about 9 p.m. Monday in a crosswalk at Crenshaw Boulevard and Coliseum Street when she was struck by a southbound SUV that fled the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division.
Eaton-Breaux was pronounced dead at a hospital, police said.
The boy was not hurt.
The vehicle, which was last seen headed southbound on Crenshaw, was described as a black, early-1990s Nissan or Honda, police said. It could have damage to the front end, windshield or roof.
Anyone with information about the fatal hit-and-run was urged to call (323) 421-2540 to speak with Detective Moreno or Officer Guzman.
After-hours or weekend calls should be directed to the South Traffic Division watch commander at (323) 421-2577.
