Nicole Ari Parker, known for her roles on the Showtime TV series “Soul Food” and NBC’s “Revolution,” will soon have a daytime talk-show with her actor husband Boris Kodjoe.
“The Boris and Nicole Show” will make a summer run in alignment with Fox’s strategy to test out programs in certain regions before airing it out nationally. “We’re having a blast preparing for the show. The air date for the show is July 6th, so we are really looking forward for that moment,” said Nicole Ari Parker.
Fox Television programming team’s executive vice president Stephen Brown developed the show. Both hosts will serve as co-executive producers through the production company.
“We’ve had a couples themed project in the works for many years. Ever since we got together we’ve been approached about doing reality shows and radio shows in the past because we are both very different with strong opinions. So, we had to wait until the right time and now is the right time,” she said.
The daytime talk show will cover a wide array of lifestyle topics and celebrity guests. The duo, who have been married for 10 years, met and fell in love while filming “Soul Food” together. Variety magazine reports that the talk show will have test runs on key FOX owned stations in Los Angeles and New York.
Perhaps the couple will have the opportunity to talk about some of society’s hard-hitting issues like the recent Freddie Gray case in Parker’s hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. “I think the public needs to understand that people aren’t upset for no reason in Baltimore. People are upset because this had been brewing for a long time and the Freddie Gray case just tipped it over the edge,” said Parker.

She has been vocal about her thoughts pertaining to Baltimore on social media and believes the change the city needs. “The wonderful thing that has come out of [Baltimore] is the people coming together and taking their neighborhoods back. The legal system now has stepped up to recognize some of the issues the public is facing and address them hands on,” said Parker.
