R&B’s 90’s Girl Group, Xscape to Reunite for First Live Show at the 2017 Essence Festival
R&B quartet Xscape will kick off its comeback tour at the Essence Festival, for the group’s first full live show in over 15 years. The group is slated to perform on Sunday, July 2nd – a night headlined by festival first-timer Chance the Rapper, along with Master P, Solange and more at the Superdome in New Orleans, LA. “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the return of Xscape than in New Orleans with our fans at the world famous, Essence Festival,” the group said in a statement. “Essence Fest is so much more than a music festival, it’s a celebration of culture, music and entertainment. Missy “Misdemeanors” Elliot returns to the music scene with a trap-infused club banger “I’m Better remix” with a dream collaboration with Lil Kim, Eve and Trina. Missy, known for many iconic collaborations, teamed up with fellow iconic female rappers to remix her single “I’m Better” that, dropped earlier this year featuring producer and songwriter Lamb. Elliot who was featured on the remix of Lil Kim’s “Not Tonight” single in 1997 with Angie Martinez, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Da Brat created another iconic moment with women in hip hop.
YG releases 4 Hunnid Clothing Spring/Summer ’17 Collection
Multi-Platinum rap star and budding fashion influencer, YG, expands his portfolio yet again with the release of his 4 Hunnid Clothing Spring/Summer ’17 Collection. S/S ’17 is an extended continuation of YG’s Spring l Collection, a line that features a mixture of caps, sweatshirts, hoodies and embroidered tees, all designed in the style of YG’s edgy Compton streetwear inspired aesthetic. YG and 4Hunnid Clothing Creative Director, Gavin “Mizzle” Mathieu, told WWD.com that the full collection will be available to shop beginning June 1st on www.4Hunnid.com. “People always thought of 4 Hunnid as merchandise, so we want to present it in a different way for people to perceive it differently,” said Mathieu. “We really want to create a fashion brand.” The 4Hunnid Clothing Collection launched in February of 2016. In conjunction with the release, the brand initiated a test order with street and skate wear with powerhouse retailer, Zumiez. Zumiez states the 4Hunnid Clothing Collection was the fastest selling test order in Zumiez history, and are proceeding to expand its purchase of the collection which will now be available in over 400 stores nationwide.
