“For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” (Matthew 17:9-23; Mark 8:31;Luke 9:22)
As written in Matthew 20:28, “That He was to give His life as a ransom for many,” the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, to give His life as a ransom for many. He was unique and came from heaven (John 3:13) No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven – the Son of Man.
“For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.” Additionally, the following reference from Revelation 1:12 – 18 provides more information.
John, in his vision from God, says: “I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned, I saw… someone like a Son of Man dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of rushing waters… His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. When I saw Him, I fell at his feet as though dead.
“Then He placed His right hand on me and said: ‘Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”
Some (many) simply do not want to and refuse to accept that Jesus is God. A thorough reading and studying the Bible leaves us with no option other than to conclude that Jesus is the Sonvof Man holding a title meaning He was more than a good man, more than a teacher, more than a prophet. He is actuality God.
The high priest during a trial before crucifixion, answered and said to Him, “I put You under oath by the Living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!” Jesus said to him, “It is as you said; But, I also say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.” (Matthew 26:63 – 64)
So it is written: “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9 – 11)
“Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” What do we say here and why is it being said?
Here we go, from lay person’s understanding, Jesus was fully man and fully God. He resembled a man in His person. During His human journey here on earth, he proved through His miracles, His speech, His dialogues with those who believed (had faith) and unbelievers, even some of those who came unbelieving left as believers.
As it is today, we can see in the news and happenings what is real and eternal and what is not. Here is something I have come to see more clearly: the adversary remains true to mission and identity as the slanderer, the liar, the deceiver, the accuser of the brethren.
We see day and night many are being deceived and accused; but not all are guilty. That is the strategy or one of the strategies of the adversary. Jesus was innocent of the charges railed on Him. Therefore, doesn’t it stand to reason, not all who are accused are guilty. Many are lost. Jesus came to clear up some of “the mess.”
He showed forth His deity. That’s always the subject is to bring doubt (the great enemy and partner with deceit) in the minds of people of His supreme, supernational nature. He was resurrected!
Who can you point to is our resurrected savior? There’s only one! The question comes down to, are you concerned about what will happen to you after the body dies? Just think on this important point.
