Holman United Methodist Church will hold its annual Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Summit to acquaint prospective high school and community college students with HBCU schools.
The session will be held on Thursday, November 12, at 6 p.m., in Holman’s L.L. White Hall, 3320 West Adams Boulevard in Los Angeles. The Rev. Kelvin Sauls is the host pastor.
Representatives from Bennett College, Dillard University, Fisk University, Lincoln (MO) University, Philander Smith College, Stillman College, Talladega College, Tuskegee University and Wiley College will share information about their school and on the admissions process including the guaranteed admission agreements with all California Community Colleges. Also, the first 50 students can apply to 43 HBCUs for free.
According to hbcuconnect.com, there are more than 100 Historically Black Colleges and Universities offering traditional and online curriculums for undergraduate to doctoral degrees. The HBCU roster comprises public, private, two-year and four-year institutions, medical schools and community colleges.
