The 2025 Hawthorne Business Expo & Job Fair will take place on Thursday, April 24, at the Hawthorne Memorial Center, bringing together job seekers, business owners, and industry leaders for a day dedicated to career growth and networking opportunities.  

The annual event offers free admission and has become a significant local resource for professional advancement and community economic development, noted Hawthorne Mayor Pro Tem Katrina Manning.

A variety of major companies and organizations are scheduled to participate, actively seeking new employees from diverse professional backgrounds.  

Employers attending the expo include Ford Motor Company, Chase, Kinecta, Blue Shield Promise, Live Nation, Los Angeles Airport, Providence Little Company of Mary, and the City of Hawthorne, among many others.  

Job seekers will have the opportunity to speak directly with hiring representatives and explore current job openings in multiple industries.

For small-business owners and entrepreneurs, the Expo serves as an ideal platform to showcase their brands and services to hundreds of attendees.  

The event provides significant exposure, creating opportunities for local businesses to connect with potential clients, investors, and strategic partners, thereby expanding their reach within the local business community. 

Adding to the day’s value are two expert-led panel discussions featuring accomplished business leaders and entrepreneurs.

The first panel will feature Sanjeev Weerasuriya, CEO of Systems Technology; Diann Valentine, CEO of Flow & Glow Beauty; Larrance Dopson, Grammy-winning producer and CEO of 1500 or Nothin’; and Dionne Philips, CEO of D’Lashes & Wellness Spa, and luxury celebrity lash expert.  

This panel will discuss entrepreneurship, effective business-building strategies, and overcoming challenges faced by business owners today.  

A second panel will include Sheryl Bender, administrative officer for the City of Long Beach; Redy Thompson, vice president at Bank of California; Lakeisha R. Bearden, director of Program Development at Merriwether & Williams Insurance Services; and Lisa Dixon-Stevens, vice president and senior business consultant at JPMorgan Chase Coaching for Impact.  

Moderated by Dominique Di Prima, this discussion will offer insight into career advancement, successful business practices, and current trends affecting industries across the region. 

Although entry to the Hawthorne Business Expo & Job Fair is free, event organizers recommend that attendees register in advance due to the anticipated high turnout.
