The Dozier Singers will headline a Christmas Musical at McCarty Memorial Christian Church, December 18 at 3 p.m.
The musical will feature, also, accomplished vocalist Crystal Davis, the minister of Music at The New Earth Christian Church based in Gardena, where Rev. Larry Dozier is the senior pastor.
The Dorsey High School Alumni Workshop, a top, local jazz band, will perform during the musical as will the McCarty Gospel Choir.
In addition to singing, there will be poetry readings and a bit of humorous theatrics.
The theme, ‘The Greatest Gift’ is from an original Christmas recording by the Dozier Singers, under the direction of Jerry Dozier, who has performed for the likes of The Temptations, Tom Jones, Johnny Guitar Watson, etc. He’s guiding this musical event.
While there is no charge to attend, there will be a free-will offering.
McCarty is located at 4101 West Adams Blvd. in Los Angeles. The church has onsite parking plus there is ample, off-street parking in the area. The Rev. Eddie Anderson is the pastor at McCarty Memorial.
