Annual Men and Women’s Day will be observed on Sunday, October 22, at 3 p.m., at Curry Temple CME Church. The theme is “Men and Women Working in Unity for The Lord.” The scriptural reference is I Corinthians 11:12.

The Rev. Asberry Charles, pastor of Dominion Power Christian Center in Los Angeles, will be the guest preacher. Called to preach at the age of 16, Charles has been a minister for 39 years. He previously served as pastor of Lewis Chapel CME in Santa Barbara, and Trinity CME in Los Angeles before founding Dominion Power Christian Center in 2001.
A native of Texas, Charles was raised in Pasadena. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Central Texas College and Master’s of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Center Seminary. Professionally, Charles served 13 years in the U.S. Army as well as 22 years as a corporate banker.
