The Next Big Film Director Award Winner: Marcellus Hudson made his debut last week in Los Angeles with a Screening and Panel Discussions.

Dutch Masters – a brand of natural-wrapped cigars sold in American since 191,  revealed their new initiative, Craft Syndicate, identifying Music and Film’s next big thing through mentorship and panel conversations with top film and music executives. Craft Syndicate by Dutch Masters also offers mentorship opportunities and a $15,000 grant to aspiring creatives in the art/design, fashion, music and film world.

Last week, Monday, October 23, 2017, iconic music executives, Damon Dash, and Datari Turner unveiled their next big film director winner Marcellus Hudson, with a screening of the much-anticipated collaboration between Hudson and Turner on Lil Durk’s “No Fear” music video and panel discussion. Durk Banks, better known by his stage name, Lil Durkis an American hip-hop recording artist and singer-songwriter from Chicago, Illinois. He is the leader of his own collective, OTF, and is also signed to Def Jam Recordings, tapped Turner and Hudson because of their innovative approach to film and cinema. Hudson learned from the best.

Included in the conversation was music executive and Rocafella Co-founder Damon Dash, TV personality, fashion designer and collaborator, Vanessa Simmons, TV Personality and reality star, Tami Roman, along with music video directors, Colin Tilley and Director X. Producer Datari Turner, and Craft Syndicate by Dutch Masters next big film director winner Marcellus Hudson gave perspective on their collaboration and the impact of mentorship in the industry.

Emmy award winning journalist and TV host Rocsi Diaz moderated the discussion while reminding the audience of their power in being an underdog. “Look who’s rolling right now? Look who are the leaders in the film and music industries right now; underdogs; leaders,” says Rocsi Diaz, “People that did it on their own with their own motivations and their own paths.” Also in attendance and sitting on the panel were two extremely respected directors, Collin Tilly and Director X. Both Tilly and X provided attendees with sound advice on getting started and consequently staying relevant in the ever-changing film industry.
