Alameda Court will offer 28 town homes to Compton residents at below market value.

Compton city representatives joined with community leaders and advocates at groundbreaking ceremonies on Nov. 3 for a 28-unit town home development in Compton. The development, Alameda Court, is part of the City’s “Birthing a New Compton” revitalization program and represents a partnership among the City of Compton, the long Term Care housing Corporation (LTCHC), and Forte Resources.
“This development is another shining star in the rebirth of Compton,” said Compton City Councilmember, Isadore Hall. “Our Community Revitalization program, from shopping centers, to housing, to pocket parks, is transforming Compton and bringing quality places for people to live, shop, work and play.”
Alameda Court will be set on 2.84-acre lot with town homes ranging from 1700-1800 square feet. The development will be a non-drive through zone, featuring a unique, non-gated security design. The units will be available to Compton residents at below-market rates, with the city offering first-time homebuyers assistance through its Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Program. Five of the town homes will be designated for purchase by long-term care workers.
Alameda Court represents the third venture undertaken by the Long Term Care Housing Corporation which builds affordable housing to help low-income working families realize the dream of home ownership and to foster sustainable communities. The LTCHC has already completed development of two single-family homes purchased and occupied by Compton long-term care workers.
“This wonderful development marks another milestone in our core commitment to helping low-income working families realize their dream of home ownership, and represents another success in our partnership with the city of Compton,” said Tyrone Freeman, chair, Long-Term Care Housing Corporation. “We’re looking forward to building partnerships with more cities to help them meet their responsibility to provide safe, affordable, quality housing for their low-income residents.”
The city of Compton financed the purchase of the land for Alameda Court. Forte Resources and the Long Term Care Housing Corporation formed Alameda Court, LLC, which is providing funding for the development of the property. The development is being designed by Quatro Design Group, which provided the innovative design for Aliso Village.
“We’re excited to be involved in a development that enhances the community and brings affordable housing to working families,” said project manager, Jonathan Hansen of Forte Resources, a real estate development company specializing in affordable housing. “This is an important undertaking that we know will change people’s lives.”
