The Los Angeles Chargers played a complete game in their 27-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Bolts now have a 7-3 overall record and a 3-1 record in SoFi Stadium.
Head coach Jim Harbough was generous with his praise and nicknames for his players. Quarterback Justin Herbert was labeled “Beast Herbert” after scoring a touchdown rush and pass. The combination of his speed and strength awarded running back Hassan Haskins the nickname “freak.”
Rusher Gus Edwards, who led the Bolts with 10 carries for 55 yards, was referred to as the “Gus Bus.”
Harbough wanted the team to keep their energy up through both halves of the game.

“My red blood was pumping,” Harbough said. “I just felt like we had a ton of momentum and didn’t want that halftime to slow us up in any way.”
The defense was aggressive throughout the matchup, they sacked Titans signal-caller Will Levis seven times for a loss of 18 yards. The Bolts have committed a combined 13 sacks in the past two games. Safety Derwin James mentioned how rushing coverage and having a strong knowledge of their rush lanes helped give them an aggressive edge.
“I feel like we have some of the best edge rushers in this league,” James said. “I feel like we got great situation awareness and I feel like we’re making adjustments.”
Linebacker Daiyan Henley led the Chargers with 14 total tackles and 11 solo stops. He was one of the five defenders that registered a sack in the contest. Linebackers Bud Dupree and Tuli Tuipulotu tied for two sacks while Henley, defensive lineman Poona Ford and linebacker Joey Bosa had one each.
“What you see out there is connection between the [defensive backs], the middle, and then the line,” Henley said. “That’s what you see out there week in and week out.”
Wide receiver Quentin Johnston noted how watching the defense making sacks motivates the offense.
“That always gets the offense pumped up … we feed off that,” Johnston said. “They get the sack and I was like “okay, now we go back and score to compliment that.”
Johnston scored on a 16-yard passing play late in the third quarter. Herbert made 164 passing yards and 32 rushing yards,
The Chargers are now second in the AFC West and sixth in the AFC. They will host the Cincinnati Bengals on November 17 at 5:20P.M.
