A celebration of life service is planned for businessman Jesse L. McGee, who recently passed away. Mr. McGee was the prior owner of Simpson & McGee Mortuary in Lynwood, California.
In this capacity, he served the community and families throughout Los Angeles County for more than 36 years and was very passionate about his business and the families he served.
A special viewing will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at McKay’s South Bay Mortuary, 3918 Marine Ave., in Lawndale. His funeral service is set for Saturday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m., at Greater Emmanuel Temple Church, 3740 E. Imperial Highway in Lynwood.
Mr. McGee was instrumental in helping other mortuaries flourish, particularly McKay’s South Bay Mortuary, where he also served the community until his health failed. According to all who knew him, Mr. McGee was greatly loved and will be missed by many.
