Music mogul mulls possibility of Death Row film

In a swift and impromptu exploratory meeting with the former wife of Death Row co-founder Lydia Harris last week in Westwood, Billionaire Catt CEO Michael McCant disclosed he is contemplating producing a film on her life story.

Harris, the former wife of  drug king pin Michael “Harry O” Harris the co-founder of  DeathRow Records, recently published a compelling novel that reveals raw information on the label that produced such urban icons as  2Pac, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube among many others.

Lydia Harris’ book ‘Married To The Game’ is the most epic documentation of what transpired at the label during its height as one of the most successful companies in the industry, and her journey from 11th grade drop out to being at the hip of DeathRow co-founder while her husband served time in prison and then successful winning law suit against former DeathRow boss Suge Knight has spurned offers from major movie executives to produce the film.

McCant, whose ever expanding portfolio includes an arsenal of rising rap stars, producers and films, flew from his Bay Area home to meet with Lydia Harris at a popular Westwood hotel and later at a famous eatery in Beverly Hills where the discussions centered on his backing the project.

“I am obviously intrigued about the possibilities of producing such a film, but I would only do it if it could be done right,” said McCant.

McCant says that he was also impressed with Lydia, considering all that she endured throughout her journey, including her steadfast loyalty to her husband although he was incarcerated.

“This sister has demonstrated her loyalty in many aspects of her life, but most importantly she realizes that her primary responsibility is to be a doting mother of her teenage daughter,” he said.

Although many of the details surrounding a potential deal with Lydia and McCant are confidential, sources have confirmed that he has the exclusive options of developing and producing her story.

When asked, McCant simply answered, “I have no comment.”

Ironically, both Lydia and McCant circumstances are similar to each other. McCant has rapidly climbed the charts of the entertainment industry on the heels of his self-created Billionaire Catt brand.

Lydia has  become a walking testament of perseverance, battling the legal system and the music industry.

Now, perhaps collectively they can produce the blockbuster that the public has been yearning for since the demise of Death Row.

“We shall see,” added McCant as he climbed into his Cadillac Escalade driven by his security detail.

Before McCant took off we asked him.  Could this film be the beginning of the building of the next Oprah Winfrey with Ms. Harris?

“I’m not big on Oprah, but maybe we’ll be creating the next Carol H. Williams, the Ultimate African American Female mega advertising mogul in my eyes. And she’s a lot better looking,” Catt smiles as he sped off.
