AXS TV and Spectrum continue their partnership on the successful “AXS TV Band Together For Music Education” initiative, awarding 10 more $10,000 grants to music education programs across the country.
Since its inception in 2022, “AXS TV Band Together For Music Education” has effectively connected the network with affiliates, local communities, and schools nationwide, in support of vital music education programs and the vast benefits they provide students.
From building confidence and creativity; to improving reading, math, and communication skills; boosting classroom attendance; instilling a lifelong appreciation for music; and even potentially laying the groundwork for a career in the Arts, exposure to music throughout their development can give children invaluable skills, techniques, and habits that will last a lifetime.

The first grant of 2024 was awarded to Heart of LA (HOLA) in a special ceremony held at the AXS TV Studio on Friday, March 29. Remarks were provided by AXS TV’s Head of Content and Marketing Greg Drebin; music icon and AXS TV’s contributor Carnie Wilson; and Spectrum’s VP of Government Affairs Whitney O’Neill; as well as Senator María Elena Durazo, L.A. Councilwoman Heather Hutt, and Heart Of LA CEO Tony Brown.
Putting music education into action, Spectrum and AXS TV hosted a visit to the Grammy Museum following the grant presentation with more than 75 HOLA students, where they learned how to put a beat together in an interactive lesson at the Clive Davis Auditorium, and toured some of the museum’s finest exhibits.
Founded in 1989, HOLA provides underserved kids an equal chance to succeed through a comprehensive array of after-school programs, including a dynamic music and youth orchestra program, an intensive and sophisticated visual arts department, premiere sport leagues and clinics, leadership and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) classes, wraparound and counseling services, alumni support and scholarships, as well as parent and family resources.
“At Heart of Los Angeles, we feel that the importance of music education cannot be understated,” said Brown of Heart of LA. “These free music programs are essential to ensuring equitable access to quality music education for all students across LA. We simply could not offer these without partners like AXS TV and Spectrum, and we are so grateful to be recognized again by the AXS TV Band Together for Music Education initiative.”
“We welcome this opportunity to join together with AXS TV for a new round of grants supporting music and arts education,” said Adam Falk, senior vice president of State Government Affairs for Spectrum.
“As a company with a large local presence, we aim to invest in initiatives that benefit the communities we serve. ‘Band Together’ does this by providing much-needed funding to underserved programs so students can access the instruments, instruction and equipment they need to appreciate music.”
