Royals had pursued over generations seeking to “stop the coming of the seed of the woman.” Athaliah killed all the seed royal (2 Chronicles 22:10)    Only the babe Joash was rescued and hidden.

For six years, the faithfulness of Jehovah’s word was at stake (2 Chronicles 23:3.) Satan’s many attempts to “stop the coming of “the seed of the woman” was relentless, although, unsuccessful at those times.  \

Hezekiah was childless; but a double assault was waged (Isaiah 36:1 38:1). But, God was and is faithful (Psalm 136).

Joseph when learning of Mary’s pregnancy was fear stricken and wanted to divorce, thinking that was his only alternative (Matthew 1:18-20) and he didn’t want her to be disgraced and stoned; but the faithfulness of Jehovah prevailed (Deuteronomy 24:1). You will recall the pursuit of Pharaoh to kill the baby boys. Moses was saved by his parents who hid him and hewas rescued by Pharaoh’s daughter.

Here’s the point: When you think you are at your very end, God will intervene and show forth His faithfulness. His love is abounding and reliable.

Herod pursued the death of “seed of the woman,” but unsuccessfully. The Bible records other Satanic assaults attempting to destroy the “coming seed of the woman.”

“At length, the cross was reached. The sepulchre was closed; the watch set; and the stone sealed. But God raised Him from the dead. And now, like another Joash, He is seated and expecting (Hebrew 10:12, 13) hidden in the house of God on high; and the members of the one body are hidden there in Him (Colossians 3:1-3) like another Jehoshaba; and going forth to witness His coming” (2 Chronicles 23:3) (Companion Bible Appendix 23).

At the most referred to temptation of Jesus, Satan tried to influence Jesus to commit suicide, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. The angels will come and save you.” Believe it or not, Satan is shrewd, crafty and unrelenting. Don’t fool yourself. His strategy is deceit. He is “the master of deceit.”

He will have you thinking you can walk through literal fire and not get burned. Meaning this, he will have you thinking that one more drink will not harm you and you will overcome. He will have you thinking that one more dose/shot of cocaine or heroin or one more robbery or whatever; you will get out alive.

Remember, you are not Christ, but a believer in Christ. It is true, Jesus could have thrown Himself down and His angels would gather Him, and He would have been unharmed. But,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Jesus had a made up mind. He was on a divine timetable and wouldn’t fall for the “okie doke.” Jesus made it to the cross.

God sent Moses, who had been dead hundreds of years, (representing the Law, and those to be raised from the dead) and Elijah (representing those “caught up” without dying).  In Luke 9:31 “they spoke of His decease” to talk with Him about His departure, coming crucifixion and resurrection. They came to comfort Him in His dire time of need.

Moses, representing the Law, and Elijah representing those to be caught up without dying. God’s plan will not be stopped. All what we see now is only part of His plan to return.

He is sifting. He is on time. He won’t turn back. He won’t come halfway in the clouds, stop, and turn back and give up. Satan knows that his time is short (Revelation 12:12). He knows Satan is furious.

Let us be comforted, “rejoice.” And those who will be convinced and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, Fear not! You’re safe with Him. You can trust Jesus when you have nobody else to turn to. He is always there. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Call on him! J-E-S-U-S
