We are hearing this term AI more frequently now. However, thoughts of worshipping images has been as far back as approximately 475 B.C. and before.
Of course, you may recall my writing about making images for worship and idolaters has been a thread of or subject during some of my writings. What is it? It stands for “artificial intelligence.”
In my own words, “artificial intelligence is a vast knowledge of mechanical, computer-generated knowledge which can make your voice or other voices can be made to imitate precise voice sounds of a person’s voice.” That is a simple definition.
It is the ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings. The term is frequently applied to the project of developing systems endowed with the intellectual processes characteristic of humans.
But, it goes farther than this. We have all seen and heard of robots that can respond by commands. We see this in science fiction movies and in commercials. Therefore, we see the imagination of the mind at work way before its evidence of today.
However, the processes of these mechanisms are complex and has been in the making for hundreds of years. Man has been working on how to re-create what Elohim has already perfected. Man has desired to be not only like God, but to be God.
Back from 475 B.C. with King Nebuchadnezzar, we learn that Nebuchadnezzar “made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. This was an image of massive proportion and not of human size; but an image shaped by cutting and carving.
“2Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
“3 Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
“4 Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, 5 That at what time you hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of music, you fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: 6 And whoever does not fall down and worship shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
“7 Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. (Daniel 3:1-7)
Now, this brings to mind the subject of mark of the beast and the threats and actions of against anyone who does not wear the mark on the forehead and on the right hand and the consequences of not following that demand, they would be killed. In the New Testament book of Revelation, which was written by John the Apostle, we find more information on this subject.
Similar to Nebuchadnezzar, this image in Revelation appears as “the False Prophet will have an image of the Antichrist constructed in order for people to worship the image. The image will appear to be alive
The False Prophet will require all people to have” the “mark of the beast.” Revelation 13:5-11. To Be Continued.
