Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer celebrated the Christmas Holidays with constituents from his 59th Assembly District, which runs from South Los Angeles in the city to Walnut Park in the county of Los Angeles. Asm. Jones-Sawyer, like a Marvel Super Hero, went from mild-manner Assemblymember to red-suited Santa in a flash to pass out toys to excited, gleeful tots.
“Christmas is a time where all children should feel loved and valued. In my district there are too many households where families struggle to provide for their kids, and I feel blessed to be in a position to bring a little joy in their lives. And I thank all the people and community partners that donated toys for this festive and beautiful occasion,” said Asm. Jones-Sawyer.
Over 400 toys were handed out to children ranging in age from 1-to-16 years of age. In addition to the toys, a huge breakfast buffet was provided. The Muses Room of the Annenberg Building inside of Exposition Park was turned into a festive Winter Wonderland filled with giant size candy canes, tin soldiers, ginger bread boys, and a Santa’s Workshop where kids did arts and crafts. It was a delightful sight and event that all enjoyed.
