Bishop Joe L. Ealy and the members of the Church Of God In Christ (COGIC) First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Southern California are planning their 102nd Annual Holy Convocation.

The event starts Monday, June 6 and continues through Sunday, June 12. The theme is “Praying Without Ceasing in Perilous Times” based on 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.

“We look forward to worshipping with you. We have some dynamic convocation speakers, so come out and be blessed,” said Bishop Ealy.

Worship services will be held during the week at 7 p.m., at the North Campus of West Angeles Church of God In Christ, 3045 South Crenshaw Blvd., in Los Angeles. The preachers will be Superintendent Donald R. Gridiron, Sr., Superintendent Chane P. Smith, Administrative Assistant Jerry Johnson, Sr., Bishop-elect Marvin L. Winans, and Superintendent Kevin T. Moreland, respectively.

Two important day sessions take place on Thursday, June 9. The Women’s Day services will begin at 9 a.m., at the West Angeles North Campus. The speaker will be Mother Barbra McCoo-Lewis, assistant general supervisor of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. At 10 a.m., Bishop Ealy will hold his Council meeting in the West Angeles Crystal Room.

On Saturday, June 11, young people will meet for the Sunshine Band and Purity Class at 9 a.m., a Youth Leaders Forum at 3 p.m., and a youth worship service at 6 p.m., at Gospel Memorial COGIC, 1480 Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach. The preacher will be Superintendent Nathaniel Green.

The convocation will conclude with the Official Day service on Sunday, June 12, at 4 p.m., at West Angeles Cathedral, 3600 South Crenshaw Blvd., in Los Angeles. Bishop Ealy will deliver the sermon.
