The Los Angeles Police Department Southeast Community Station, in partnership with Los Angeles Rams safety John Johnson III, hosted a festive community sleigh ride to bring holiday joy to Pueblo Del Rio and Watts on December 10. This event, a key part of the Rams’ ‘Season of Giving’ campaign, showcased their dedication to supporting the Los Angeles community.

The ‘Season of Giving’ campaign, which runs from November 16 to December 19, highlights the Rams’ commitment to service. This year, players, cheerleaders, and staff have contributed over 1,500 volunteer hours to address food insecurity, provide gifts to families, and support community initiatives during the holiday season.

This year’s sleigh ride, a long-standing tradition, featured Rams players, cheerleaders, mascot Rampage, and giveaways of candy, T-shirts, schedules, and plush toys, sparking excitement among local residents.

“It’s about bringing laughter and joy to the community during a special time of year,” said Johnson III. “You never know the impact that something this simple can leave on someone.”

For Johnson, the event holds personal significance. A December baby with fond memories of holiday celebrations, he cherishes the opportunity to give back.

“My birthday is December 19th, so the holidays mean a lot to me. Growing up, Christmases were always special, and I want to create similar memories for kids in our community,” Johnson said.

The collaboration between the Rams and the LAPD Southeast Division spreads holiday cheer and strengthens bonds between law enforcement and the neighborhoods. The Watts Rams youth football program, which the Rams have supported since 2017, also played a significant role, demonstrating the positive impact of sports and mentorship on young lives.

Looking ahead, Johnson is eager to expand the event. “In 2025, if I’m around, I’m going to make it bigger and better,” he shared, hinting at even greater efforts to bring joy and hope to the community.

With events like this, the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Police Department demonstrate how small acts of kindness and outreach can foster stronger connections and leave a meaningful impact on the communities they serve.
