Diagnosis: Miserable

“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:”—Revelation 3:17

The definition of miserable is as follows: (of a person) wretchedly unhappy or uncomfortable.

I think it’s safe to say that just about every human being that ever was, is and will be is going to find themselves miserable at multiple points in life. Some people live in a perpetual state of being miserable. In the news, we’ve recently had a few unfortunate souls who have taken their own lives as a result of being miserable.

The Bible says we’re unhappy or uncomfortable and I have to agree with that as you can see all around that everyone is trying their best to change their situation. You have people surgically augmenting their bodies, chasing money and falling in and out of love with individuals searching for happiness and comfort.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” —Matthew 6:33

For the record, I’m not saying cosmetic surgery, working for wealth and looking for love is wrong but, rather finding fulfillment in Jesus is the treatment for misery. He’s stated in His word that we will attain happiness and comfort if we seek Him first. Just a little suggestion, continue to seek Jesus every day because misery has a tendency to act like a cold, and we catch it every now and then.

Wait a minute, there is more to your diagnosis, it seems you are really poor too…
