A Father’s Favor

Scripture: Genesis 12:1-4 When I was about 12-years-old, I went to my father and told him that I wanted to play organized football in the local park league. He contacted a friend of his, who coached a team and told him of my desire. His friend contacted a friend of his, who had a team that practiced closer to our house and told him that I was interested in playing. Coach Merriweather allowed me to play on his team and we won the league championship. My initial opportunity to play organized football was due in part to my father’s favor.

God Directs Stevenson on ‘Hollywood Walk of Faith’

Roz Stevenson shares how God turned her into a trailblazing movie publicist    It’s been said, to “Let go and let God,” but not everyone takes that advice. I also remember the hurricanes that would come each summer. Hurricane season occurs during the summer months and when I was a child, hurricanes seemed no more than severe rainstorms. But it seems that as I’ve gotten older, hurricanes have become more and more powerful. As I’ve gotten older, it seems that the storms I face in life have grown in intensity. Hurricane Dorian is

Words of the Week – Be Thankful Always

To the youth readers: The season of giving thanks is quickly approaching. I like to call this the “Thankful Season.” So many people take this time to provide services to the less fortunate. As a young man, I think the season of gratitude should be present all year around, daily or as often as we can. Being thankful for what we have endured or the challenges we have been through is not always easy to look back on. This time of giving thanks is especially sensitive for me, as we were without a place to call home four years ago.
