More than 30 years ago, God anointed the creative talents of Rickie Byars, empowering her to write as directed by the Holy Spirit. Since that time, she’s only soared higher and higher while proclaiming the love, joy and power of the Lord. Such is the uplifting ministry of Byars, who has introduced countless people to Christ through her musical skills. Marjorie C. Laws, a dedicated member of Trinity Baptist Church and longtime Sentinel contributing writer, passed away on Oct. 19. She was 86-years-old. Known for her strong faith and love of God, Marjorie was recognized throughout the L.A. area for contributing her time and talents to the betterment of her church and community. Her viewing will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Angelus Funeral Home, 3875 Crenshaw Blvd., in Los Angeles. Our lesson is Faith 101. I’m going to teach on faith with the Apostle in the building. Either I’m foolish or I’m anointed. It’s got to be one of the two. Romans 3:27 reads, “Where is boasting then?
