“The word pornography was coined from the ancient Greek words πόρνη (pornē “prostitute” and πορνεία porneia “prostitution”[13]), and γράφειν (graphein “to write or to record”, derived meaning “illustration”, as in “graph”), and the suffix -ία (-ia, meaning “state of”, “property of”, or “place of”), thus meaning “a written description or illustration of prostitutes or prostitution”. The earliest attested, most related word one could find in Greek, is πορνογράφος, pornographos, i.e. “someone writing about harlots”, in the Deipnosophists of Athenaeus. The Modern Greek word pornographia(πορνογραφία) is a reborrowing of the French pornographie. The word pornography, derived from the Greek porni (“prostitute”) and graphein (“to write”), was originally defined as any work of art or literature depicting the life of prostitutes. Social attitudes towards the discussion and presentation of sexuality have become more tolerant in Western countries. It’s definition differs in various historical, cultural, and national contexts. Social attitudes towards the discussion have become more tolerant in Western countries. Beginning in 1969 with “Blue Movie” by Andy Warhol- porneia[who would have thought!] first adult erotic film, received wide theatrical release in the United States, leading to an industry for the production and consumption of pornography in the latter half of the 20th century. Home video and Internet saw a boom in the worldwide porn industry generating billions of dollars annually. Commercialized pornography accounts for over US$2.5 billion in the United States alone, including production of various media, associated products and services. The general porn industry is between $10-$12 billion in the U.S. In 2006, world pornography was 97 billion dollars. Child porn is a $3 billion industry. [Let’s remember this is only what is known and reported.] Irrespective of legal or social view of pornography, it is used in a number of contexts, for example, at fertility clinics to stimulate sperm donors.”[Wikipedia, free encyclopedia online] Now, having set forth a brief education on pornography, “What is the effect on families?” Addiction is next in line for consumption. Husbands, wives, men and women in general and young adults become addicted to reading and watching pornography. We know it’s permissible for adults to read, watch and participate in the human opinion. It leads to other things. Not everybody is doing this. One of the most disturbing problems [in my mind] is cellphone purchases for young children. There are pop ups from Facebook and other illicit social media.

Young children are seeing these pornographic images. Children, get ahold of this illicit material. Some of my readers are mothers, fathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins of young children. More and more grandparents are raising young children. Please discourage this behavior and enforce what is being allowed! If parents and relatives are not closely monitoring and supervising, it’s best young children not have cellphones!!!
