Free festival to benefit families impacted by loss of loved ones to gun and gang violence
The San Pedro Music Festival returns on Sunday, July 31, at the Historic Warner Grand Theatre, 478 W 6th St., in San Pedro. This year’s event will benefit the Heal My Family Program, which offers grief counseling, food vouchers and help with funeral expenses to families impacted by the loss of loved ones due to gun and gang violence.
Windy City Entertainment will present the 2nd Annual Music Festival, which will pay tribute to award-winning artist Stevie Wonder. The concert and festival will take place from 4-9 p.m.
The lineup includes WonderLove, Stevie Wonder’s backing ensemble; The Habits, a local favorite male duo; the PEEDRO PLAYERS, world class local musicians; the rock sounds of Resurrection Road; international jazz soul vocalist Windy Barnes Farrell; music director Gail Jhonson and more.
According to the sponsors, “Local vendors will present eye-popping merchandise and local restaurants will offer tasty bites during intermissions.”
“It’s the perfect time to honor our planet and our ancestors as we celebrate professional musicians for their dedication to healing the earth through their musical gifts and talents,” said Windy Barnes Farrell. “Because of the pandemic and the devastation it caused, the festival was unable to return until now. We are back and thrilled to safely offer a music festival that represents the demographic make up of San Pedro and bring all ages together in a fun and meaningful way.”
