Young Man Shot, Killed in South L.A. Identified

A young man fatally wounded in a shooting in South Los Angeles was identified today.

The shooting occurred about 11:45 p.m. Aug. 17 in the 1000 block of West 46th Street, said Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.

The shooting victim — identified by the coroner’s office as 18-year- old, Antonio Brown of Los Angeles — died while paramedics were taking him to an area hospital, Lopez said.

A possible motive for the shooting has not been disclosed. No arrests have been reported.
