A woman, her boyfriend and mother have been charged in connection with the hit-and-run death of a 62-year-old man four years ago, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Brittnee Monique Crawford (dob 9/11/90) faces one felony count each of vehicular manslaughter with an allegation of fleeing the scene of the crime and hit-and-run driving resulting in death.
Co-defendants Joshua Eugene Walker (dob 2/6/91) of Moreno Valley and Katherine Rene Rodriguez (1/10/71) of Perris both face one felony count of accessory after the fact.
Rodriguez, Crawford’s mother, pleaded not guilty to the charge today, while Crawford and Walker pleaded not guilty to the charges on Feb. 8. All three defendants are scheduled to return on March 19 to Department W31 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Airport Branch.
Case SA092302 was filed for warrant on Feb. 24, 2016.
Brittnee Crawford is charged with running over and killing pedestrian Paul Kevin Grover near Lincoln Boulevard and LMU Drive in Playa Vista on Jan. 9, 2014, prosecutors said. Evidence left at the scene led to charges being filed two years later.
Crawford was arrested in January 2018. Crawford’s mother and boyfriend allegedly harbored her knowing the charges against her, prosecutors added.
If convicted as charged, Crawford faces a possible maximum sentence of 11 years in state prison while Walker and Rodriguez both face three years in jail.
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
